In my semi-busy lonely time I often go through my age-old music collection since my childhood days and listen to Ustad Amir Khan Sahib and other great maestros of golden era (1935-65). I am always enchanted with their voice and gayaki as also the accompaniment of tabla lahara of Ustad Allah Rakha and other great geniuses. I thought those days are gone!. I am fortunate today to find another young master star has arisen in the eastern sky, who has learned every step of music, from those great masters with sincere dedication and is keeping up the good old gharana in style and purity. Sanhita Nandi mesmerizes me whenever I sit near her and listen either while teaching her students or in a serious concert. I pray to God long live Sanhita and her beautiful voice.
